Casey came with him at 10 below after picking up five shots in four holes in a brilliant 64 on the Monterey & # 39; s Shore-track.

The game was suspended for the day after a deluge in which 44 players had to finish.

Tee-times were brought forward to prevent the storm, but players at Pebble Beach saw greens flooded with torrents and cups filled to the brim with rainwater as they rounded their rounds in cold, windy conditions.

Three times big winner Jordan Spieth, untitled since his Open Champion victory in 2017, also reached 10 under but will complete two holes to finish at Spyglass H sick at 7:10 am local time on Saturday.

Shot Russell Kox is in fifth place on Spyglass Hill, accompanied by Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell, who posted a 70 in Monterey.

The players each play in Pebble Beach, Monterey and Spyglass Hill on Sunday in the first three days before the last round on Pebble.

The third round of Saturday is expected to start at 08:00, after which the cut will be made, with the top 60 and equivalent tires for Sunday.
