Hull second in South Korea & # 039; s Kim on Tour Championship
Charley Hull has played four times in the European Solheim Cup team, but she has only won once in the LPGA TourLPGA Tour Championship last round standings: Tiburon Golf Club, Florida-18 S-Y Kim (SKor); -17 C Romp (Eng); -16 D Kang (USA), N Korda (USA); -15 B Henderson (can); -13 L Thompson (USA), J Korda (USA), S Oh (Aus) Selected others: -11 G Hall (Eng); -10 B Law (Eng); -1 J Ewart Shadoff (Eng)
Charley Hull finished second in the season-dependent Tour Championship of the LPGA, one shot behind winner Kim Sei-young of South Korea.
The English golfer, 23, fired six birdies, and no bogeys, in a glorious six-under-66 final round in Florida.
But night leader, Kim, 26, a 25-foot birdie putt sank on the 18th green to take the title.
It was enough to claim the first prize of $ 1.5 million (£ 1.17 million) – the richest in the history of women's golf.
In an event only for the top 60 on Tour, Hull came in the week ranked 51st.
She hadn't had a top 10 finish in a tournament since May, but she found her match at the weekend and shot two rounds of 66.
Hull was in full swing when she finished with three birdies on 16, 17 and 18 and seemed ready for a play-off until Kim, who had led after each round, found a putt when she really needed it on the final green for her 10th touro win.
It denied Hull the chance to only claim her second LPGA title after winning this same event in 2016.
"I gave it my best chance," she said. "I told myself at 15, I had to birdie in to have a chance and I birdied 16, 17 and 18."
Georgia Hall ended in a draw for the 11th after a 68, a stroke ahead of the English colleague Bronte Law. who shot a 71.
