Russell Knox from Scotland has been scared three times after the first round of the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio.

Knox shot a four-under-par round of 68 and is eighth in a strong field, including 15-time big winner Tiger Woods.

American Ryan Moore leads the field from a reviving Jordan Spieth through a stroke.

Woods shot a respectable two-under-par 70 in Muirfield Village.

Former number one Woods, in his first competition round since missing the cut at the PGA Championship two weeks ago, needs another win to match Sam Snead's 82 wins on the PGA Tour.

"It was one of those days where it could easily be turned around, I feel like I have a few," Woods said about his score.

Danny Willett from England fired four shots, but it was a day to forget both Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose after three-to-par rounds of 75.
