Avondale & # 39; s Jye Pickin has strengthened his lead after round two of the Avondale Amateur after the back-to-back 66s.

Pickin, the current club champion, leads the 64 strong men's field through three shots to Andrea Lautee of Kingston Heath after an impressive five-under-par round with seven birdies.

"There is a certain expectation on your shoulders to play well," said Pickin after the round.

"It's a bit of a weird feeling to see all these guys I've played with in your home club this past month."

Defending champion Blake Windred returns five strokes, along with NSW member Jordan Garner and Lewis Hoath from Queensland.

Round of the day belonged to another Avondale local William Bayliss, who almost won the 2nd hole en route to a six-under-par 65.

In the field of women, the nightly co-leader Hye Park continued to impress after a two-under-par 70 with an eagle on the par-5 14th.

Park, a member of Royal Pines, leads through a single shot over the 16-year-old South Korean Kumkang Park.

New Zealander Caryn Khoo is another two shots back, after the low point of the day with a 68.

The cut was set at five for the men and nine for the women's field.
