Scottish Golf urges clubs to remain closed due to reopening reports
Scottish Golf previously asked players to "opt out of golf until further notice"
. Scottish golf has urged clubs not to reopen until lockdown restrictions have been lifted by the Scottish government after some told members they intended to.
The body says such reports are "disappointing" and insists there is no agreement on a safe resume.
It has been suggested that golf is one of the first activities to be allowed when restrictions are relaxed.
"I appreciate the frustrations, but … we ask all golfers to show patience," said Karin Sharp of the Scottish Golf.
"Golf is a sport where integrity and rules are central to the game and we ask all golfers to respect the position of the Scottish government."
Scottish Golf says that in conversation will continue with ministers about when the sport can return safely.
