Tiger Woods made its first appearance in Australia since 2011, when its preparation to lead the United States Presidential Cup team in Royal Melbourne rose in 12 months.

Woods, the former world number 1, led a children's clinic at the famous location of the Presidents Cup 1998 and 2011, which re-organizes the biennial meeting from 12 to 15 December.

Tomorrow morning he appears at a formal press conference in Southbank to promote the event where teams from the US and the international team are put together

Woods has completed his playing commitments for 2018 after wrestling in his own tournament, the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

But it was a turning point for the 14-time main winner when he made a big recovery from a big back-operation to win the Tour Championship in Atlanta, his first victory in five years.

Woods told the Herald Sun that he was working hard to get himself fit for 2019.

"I do not recover anywhere near as before, which is one of the challenges is that I still think I can play golf all day long and can train all day and I can, but then I will suffer the next few days," said Woods.

"The challenge is to be an older athlete, and someone who has gone through many operations, it was one of the frustrating things this year, I could not work on all aspects of my game in one day. choose, but could not do so for three days.

"More than anything else for me, it's about being able to recover, so I can play hard for the 18 holes I play in. I do not have the excess energy I used to have three, four or five miles in a row. to run, just to wonder how I played, it does not work like this anymore

"The enthusiasm is still there, I love competitions, I love to play, I love to win, sometimes I can not marry the body and the mind."
