The Brisbane Golf Club brings about change with the announcement of gender-neutral playing options.

Starting next month, the Queensland club will grant access to start times during the week to all members with relevant playing rights.

This move reflects one of the most important measures that all clubs must take to manage the legal risks associated with compliance with the 1984 Federal Sex Discrimination Act.

This recommendation is contained in the publication of the Australian Human Rights Commission, issued earlier this month: & # 39; Guidelines for the promotion of equal opportunities for women and girls in golf. & # 39; Read the publication here.

The guidelines provide guidelines for clubs to ensure that memberships are gender neutral, provide open access to the course for both sexes at all times, maximize women's participation and facilitate the inclusion of women in governance schemes.
