Sir Dallas Brooks warms up in Metropolitan

The round of 16 matches for the Sir Dallas Brooks trophy of 2018 was completed this morning in some tight matches at Metropolitan GC.

Dallas & Philip Wickenden (Yarra Yarra) upset the top qualifiers Heidi and Andrew Haringcaspel (Settlers Run & Peninsula-Kingswood) with a victory of 4/3.

Qualifying against the Wickendens in the quarterfinals is the young duo of Caleb Bovalina & Danika Coyne (Commonwealth) who eventually triumphed at the 20th hole in their match against Mark & ‚Äč‚ÄčLaura Griffin (Cardinia-Beaconhills).

Commonwealth duo Jessica Clyde and Anthony Reibel beat the low markers Emily Smith (Huntingdale) and James Ford (Riversdale) 3/2 to set a quarterfinal match with Martin Hirons & Louise Johns of Kingston Heath.

Hirons & Johns conquered Royal Melbourne & # 39; s Georgina and Philip Leigh 2/1.

Mark Brasher & Ros Nicol of Kew Golf Club had a convincing victory of 5/4 on Andy Cheng (Spring Valley) & Jane Zhang (Rosanna).

Brasher & Nicol will face Mike & Kathy Smith (Woodlands) tomorrow, in the next stage, who achieved a tight 2 victory over Sarah & Gabe Tokolyi (Commonwealth).

Jonathon Cross & Ellen Pollock were the third Commonwealth pairing to advance to the quarterfinals after defeating Darren Cope (Moonah Left) and Susan Semmens (Spring Valley) 4/2.

In the final round of 16 games, Heath Bensted (Northern) and Jess Pickwick (Kilmore) booked a quarterfinal with Cross & Pollock after having proved to be solid for Kathy Naoumidis (Keysborough) & Paul Fairbanks (Spring Valley) with a 4/3 victory.

The quarterfinals and semi-finals will take place tomorrow at 8 o'clock and the final will be played on Friday morning.
