American Bryson DeChambeau has taken the lead in the Dubai Desert Classic at 16-par, a shot at China's Li Haotong .
Matt Wallace of England is in third place tied to 13-under with South African four-time winner Ernie Els, 49, who is now ranked 527 in the world.
Nocturnal joint leader DeChambeau, the world number five, scored a four-in-a-row 68 in his third round.
Meanwhile, champion Li defended his third consecutive 67.
England pair Jordan Smith and Matthew Fitzpatrick still argue about 11-under, while compatriots Tommy Fleetwood, Andrew Johnson and Lee Westwood, and Sergio Garcia from Spain on 10-under.
