Many clothing companies want to respect the traditions of golf. An emerging golf apparel brand, Swannies takes a less serious approach and records where the game is going for many.
The younger generation of golfers doesn't want to look like their parents. And they don't want to take the game that seriously either. While many outsiders view golf as a country club sport, Muni culture is just as important to the future of the game. Swannies is one of the few brands that wants to tackle that culture in the golf world.
It has been impressive to watch them grow in recent years. Golf clothing is a fiercely competitive market and it is difficult for small businesses to gain momentum at first. Most retailers and pro stores are perfectly satisfied with stocking the clothes they know they will sell compared to a newer, unproven product.
Swannies started out with a very small clothing line, and now they have expanded it into a full range filled by hundreds of professional stores across the country. When I first reviewed their clothing, I was impressed with their designs, quality and relaxed approach. If you take a look at their newcomers, you will see that everything is reasonably priced, and it certainly appeals to the younger wave demographics.
What's New
The golf world noticed when Justin Thomas offered it in a hoodie on the Riviera this year. The horror! (just kidding)
If you like the hoodie look, one of Swannie's latest releases might seduce you. They have a nice performance hoodie made from a polyester / spandex blend that is comfortable for lounging or swinging a golf club with ease. This is perhaps my new favorite product from them.
Swannies also bolstered their polo offering this year and I think they have kept up with many of the trends with their new designs. I have worn the Blake Polo several times so far this year and love the comfort and subtle stripe design.
Whether you like more traditional polos or more modern print designs, they have something for everyone in their selection. I also think they did a great job buying quality fabrics that won't break the bank (most of their polos cost $ 59).
Finally, if you like t-shirts, Swannies has provided you with lots of designs.
Overall, it's great to see their continued growth. I also think Swannies is on to something, and it's no surprise that their overall style resonates with more and more players. You can check out their full line here on their website.
