Connor Syme has twice competed in The Open Championship -7 C Syme (Sco), S Soderberg (Swe); -4 S Valimaki (Fin); -3 E Molinari (Ita), T Pieters (Bel) Complete classification

The share of Connor Syme from Scotland and Sweden's share of Sebastian Soderberg took the lead into the final round of the Wales Open at Celtic Manor.

Syme birdied last to complete a third round 70 and go next to Soderberg on seven under.

Finnish Sami Valimaki finished the third round four under, one shot clear of the Italian Edoardo Molinari and Thomas Pieters from Belgium.

English duo David Dixon and James Morrison are in a group of two below.

Syme has been in charge, or part of the lead, in four of his last five rounds, but that was crucially not when the trophy was awarded at last week's Celtic Classic and finished in a tie for third place.

"I find myself in the same position as last week, I'll just try to do the same things I've been doing all week," said Syme.

"It would be great to win, since I got close last week. You don't really know how often you get those odds, so tomorrow it's another one.

"If it doesn't, this isn't the end of the world, but hopefully I'll play well tomorrow and give myself a chance. "
