Tyrrell Hatton opened a five-shot lead in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship before the second round was suspended due to poor lighting.

The Englishman will complete his round on Saturday morning, after finishing the day five-under-par through 13 to go to 12-under for the tournament.

Night leader Rory McIlroy is now five shots back after going through 14 holes once on day two.

Tommy Fleetwood is six under for the tournament after a second round 67.

Fleetwood was one of those who started their opening round early on Friday after the fading light was also cut off day one.

Defending champion Lee Westwood is ready to make the cut, but is far from the lead at three-bottom for the tournament with four holes of his second round to play.

Hatton, who trailed McIlroy night by two, made an eagle and four birdies to continue his impressive show – with a bogey on the third his only dropped shot up to now.

McIlroy from Northern Ireland shot a bogey-free 64 on the first day and started the second day in similar form, with two birdies in the first three holes.

However, his progress was halted with three bogeys and a double bogey leaving him in a four-player draw for second place with four holes to play.

World's number six McIlroy competes in his first European Tour event in 14 months, in a tournament where he finished second four times.

You can live stream five games of the fourth round on the BBC this weekend, including the trip from Liverpool to Manchester United. Read more here.
