Pettersen has played in eight Solheim Cups

Europe Vice Captain Suzann Pettersen hopes she can show "signs of good shape" at this week's Ladies Scottish Open to be selected for the Solheim Cup.

On Monday, Captain Catriona Matthew unveils her 12-member team for next month's game against the United States with four wildcard spots up for grabs.

Three weeks ago, Pettersen, who had her first child in August 2018, missed the cut in her first event in 20 months.

"I would like to play [the Solheim Cup] if my game is sufficient," she said.

The 38-year-old Norwegian has played in eight previous editions of this week's biennial tournament and the Scottish Open, which is being played at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, marks the last chance for Europeans to qualify for the team.

The Solheim Cup takes place from Sept. 11-13 in Gleneagles, Scotland, and eight automatic qualifiers are confirmed after the Scottish Open ended, with Matthew calling four wildcard picks on Monday at 2:00 PM BST.

"I am not the one who chooses the last four," said Pettersen. "I told Beany [Matthew] that I would like to play, but I also have to show some good forms.

" If you had spoken to me in April, I would have said, no chance, but the things have changed a bit. "

When asked about Pettersen's chances, Matthew said," I would say she looks good. I think she looks confident.

"I played with her and she was impressive and looked as if she had not gone.

" I think she just gets back into her system and wants to talk to her. like to start playing again. "

The top three players on the European Solheim Cup points list, followed by the top five eligible players in the world ranking automatically qualify.

Towards the Ladies Scottish Open lead the Spanish Carlota Ciganda, Caroline Hedwall from Sweden and the Dutch Anne van Dam the Solheim Cup points list.
