Former number one Justin Thomas and Adam Scott shared the lead at 11 under par after the second round of the rain-delayed Genesis Open.

Half of the field only started their second round on Saturday after heavy rain had affected the game on Thursday and Friday.

Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland has four shots of the lead after a bogey-free 63 with eight birdies.

The field also started the third round on Saturday with only a few hours of daylight left in Los Angeles.

Officials are convinced that they have completed 72 holes at the end of Sunday in Riviera Country Club.

JB Holmes is back at 10 below while Tiger Woods is just going to make the cut.

Thomas had to finish six holes of his second round on Saturday, while Australian Scott had seven more.

American Thomas, who was one of the earliest starters of the day, complained about the cold conditions and said: "I could not feel my toes, in that shadow it was really, very cold."

Scott added: "It was not so easy early, it was very cold and difficult to have any feeling in our hands."
