Clothing brand Ralph Lauren has ended his sponsorship of world number three Justin Thomas after using a homophobic slur.

Thomas apologized for the comment, made during the third round of the Sentry Tour of Champions in Hawaii before this month.

"It's inexcusable," said Thomas, 27.

Ralph Lauren said it was "discouraged" by using "language completely contrary to our values" by the Ryder Cup player.
