Spanish Adrian Otaegui bellowed back from four shots behind him for Matt's victory Wallace on England. the Scottish Championship at Fairmont St Andrews.

World Number 248 Otaegui, 27, reached a stunning 63rd final round on the resort's Torrance course, winning by four stokes.

Nighttime leader Wallace came second to 71st, with fellow countrymen Aaron Rai (66), Chris Paisley (68) and Garrick Porteous (71) in the top five.

After three 66 starts, Wallace had three bogeys on a haphazard last day.

But Otaegui, who set the pace on day one with an unparalleled 62, got 10 cards. birdies on the outskirts of St Andrews to battle for his third European Tour victory.

Ewen Ferguson was the leading home team ayer, tied for 11th after a final 67.
