England & # 39; s Callum Shinkwin, 446th in the world ranking, is the surprise leader after the first round of the KLM Open.

Shinkwin produced an eagle on the 544-meter par five-thirds in his six-under 66 to hold a one-shot lead in Amsterdam.

The 26-year-old has only cut eight times this season at 17 of the 17 European Tour events.

Seven players are among five, including Chris Paisley from England, Matthew Southgate and Sam Horsfield, and Marc Warren from Scotland.

Spain Sergio Garcia, winner of the 2017 Masters, is one of eight players on four under.
