Ryder Cup player Thorbjorn Olesen has lifted its European Tour suspension.
The 30-year-old Dane had agreed with Tour officials not to play in events after being arrested and charged with sexual assault after an alleged flight incident. in July last year.
Olesen pleaded innocently against all charges at a December court hearing.
His trial was originally listed for May, but it will now be heard in December 2021 at the earliest.
It has been delayed because of the backlog in the legal process caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
"Because of this significant and in parallel to the delay in the legal process, the European Tour has agreed to lift its suspension with immediate effect so that it can compete while taking up the case continues to dispute, "said a European Tour statement.
"This will be reviewed upon completion of the legal process, but as this is an ongoing legal issue, the European Tour will not provide further comment at this time."
Olesen, part of the triumphant European team in Paris in 2018, said, "While my team and I initially agreed not to would participate in Tour events when legal proceedings were not yet completed, I am of course grateful to the European Tour for continuing my career after the lengthy interruption of my trial.
