Budding stars earn APGC start

Harrison Crowe makes his representative debut next month in Japan.
Four budding stars are ready to make their representative debut for Australia at the Asia Pacific Junior Championship in Japan next month.
In what has been a breakthrough year for the couple, Harrison Crowe, from New South Wales, and Abbie Teasdale, from Western Australia, will join forces to put on their national colors for the first time.
Victorian Keeley Marx and Jack Buchanan, from South Australia, will work together as the second team to play at the Hakone Golf Club from 28-30 August.
Brad James, general manager of Golf Australia, said he was enthusiastic about the prospect of new teams representing their country for the first time.
"The championship offers a great opportunity for players who may have had little international gaming experience to play against some of the best in the world in a fun, team-based environment," James said.
"All four athletes have shown great form in the past year, both on and off the track, to prove themselves as worthy choices."
"An important aspect of athletes' development is gaining international experience. We have seen athletes such as Grace Kim, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Cassie Porter play this event in previous years and have delivered outstanding results."
"I am sure this is a great learning opportunity for our representatives and I look forward to seeing them continue to evolve as athletes and people."
The tournament is played on 54 holes with four-ball on day one, followed by four on day two and individual batting on the last day.
The combined total of the four rounds determines the team winner of the APGC Junior Championship, while the leading male and female player are also recognized.
The powerful WA coordinator, Fritz Arnold, will lead the teams, while Sydney-based professional Rachel Bailey will be the coach.
