2019 SA Amateur winners Harry Bolton & Doey Choi

Sydney's Doey Choi and Canberra's Harry Bolton are the medal winners at the South Australian amateur championships after the strokeplay phase.

Concord's Choi, 19, who is the defending champion this week, crushed the field in the women's 36-hole event and shot one par to win with six shots from Charley Jacobs of Glenelg Golf Club.

The NSW team Stalwart, who has already won the SA (2018), Queensland (2018 and 2014) and NSW amateur titles in her great career, has hit the rest of the field with a two-thirds par 70 today at The Vines Golf Club of Reynella in the south of Adelaide.

Bolton, 22, defeated Joshua Gadd from Concord and Edward Donoghue from Metropolitan in a play-off for the men's medal, the trio had all placed one under par 141 for the 36 holes. The Canberra star was triumphant at the first play-off hole.

Bolton, who plays from Royal Canberra, has just completed four years of college golf at Newberry College in South Carolina and is the number 1 seed in the match play.

The match play phase starts tomorrow.
