Autumn is officially here! With cooler temperatures there is a need for extra layering on the track. I'm always looking for the interesting releases in the clothing category. So I have compiled a small guide for all of you.
Here are some of my best fall clothes for golf clothing …
Cypress Bomber (State Apparel)
I first discovered State Apparel a few years ago when I reviewed their competition pants, which are perhaps the best cold weather golf pants available. All of their clothing is handmade in California and they have added some fun items to their line this fall.
The Cypress Bomber is one of their new releases. It is a great jacket with full zipper that can be worn when the weather starts to get cooler. Some unique features make it a bit more attractive than most jackets I have worn. Two different fabrics separate the arms and chest / back. Your hull is kept warmer with a thicker layer that is more resistant to wind and elements. However, the sleeves are made of a more flexible, lighter material that allows more freedom of movement. The combination keeps you warm but does not limit your range of movement when you swing.
I also like the casual look. I have worn this on and next to the golf course with jeans or golf pants.
The Cypress Bomber is available in Pacific Blue or Stealth Gray on the State Apparel website.
The Smitty Quarter-Zip (Rhoback)
One of the cornerstones of a golfer's wardrobe is quarter zippers. In the fall, they form an easy layer to add over your golf polo to give you a little warmth. Rhoback is one of my favorite brands for golf shirts because they have one of the best performance fabrics in the industry. Their soft, flexible materials hold out incredibly well as the temperature rises.
They've added a lot of quarter-rounds to their line-up lately and I got the chance to try out their Smitty Q-Zip. It is not surprising that this is one of the best I have tried so far. It is soft, elastic, breathable and comfortable to swing in a club. I think it is best worn at milder fall temperatures because the fabric is thin. If the weather gets much colder, you probably want to add a cardigan or maybe a light coat. In general, Rhoback has nailed it again.
The Smitty is available on the Rhoback website. They also have many colors available in their Q-Zip line.
Kirkwall Down Vest (Linksoul)
Everyone who reads Practical Golf knows that I am a bit of a Linksoul junkie. Their clothing has taken over my closet in recent years. The main reason that I love their line is that it is more of a lifestyle brand. Although most of their clothing has high-quality fabrics that perform well and look great on the golf course, you can also wear them to work or in informal situations.
I love cardigans when I play golf because they keep my body warm without adding much mass to my arms. I can't swing against a club with outwear that doesn't fit well in my arms. The Kirkwall Down Vest is one of Linksoul & # 39; s latest pieces from their fall line. It has a lot of heat even though it is very light. You can easily lay a layer on the golf course, or combine it with almost all your other clothing. As usual, Linksoul combines the line between golf and casual with this cardigan.
You can buy the Kirkwall Down Vest here on the Linksoul website (practical golf readers get 20% with code practical wave )
Highland Golf Pants (Bonobos)
One of my biggest frustrations with golf clothing is pants. It's hard for me to find a pair that fits correctly. Bonobos started their company to solve this problem and that is why they have become one of the most successful clothing brands in the world. They have built an impressive wave line, and many players noticed this when they signed Justin Rose for a sponsorship deal earlier this year.
The Highland Pants from Bonobos are an excellent option for all golfers. They are not too chic or casual, so they are suitable for different looks on the job. More importantly, they are tons of size and color options available. Bonobos golf pants have four different fits (tailor-made, athletic, slim and straight. They also offer more waist and length combinations than almost any brand there.
I recently picked up a pair of Highland pants in Indigo. They are comfortable, fit well with many different colors and, above all, fit perfectly.
You can buy Bonobos Highland pants directly on their website here.
