Red-hot Aussies deserve selection

A glowing Australian team will tackle the Spirit International in Texas next month.
Golf Australia announced today that Cassie Porter, Emily Mahar, Jack Trent and Lachlan Barker are the four-man team playing from November 4-10 north of Houston.
GA general manager Brad James said it was great to combine both domestic and university-based athletes in the same team.
"Cassie performed exceptionally well on the home front and won the Jack Newton International Junior Classic in New South Wales this weekend," James said.
"And almost at the same time, Emily won the Princess Anne Invitational in Virginia for her Virginia Tech team.
"On the men's side, we've all wondered about Jack Trent's PGA Tour debut in Las Vegas, and we've been impressed by the shape of Lachie Barker in the state of Iowa since he switched from the powerful South Australia program there
"This is a great test for everyone against an international caliber field and on a top golf course, but we are convinced that we have chosen a truly competitive team."
The tournament is a 54-hole best ball competition with five events at the same time.
It has teams of four from 20 countries and is run every two years in years when the Amateur World Championship is not held.
The focus is on men's and women's team competitions and a mixed team event, but there are also individual titles for men and women on offer.
The team is supported on site by Emma De Groot and Adrian Wickstein.
