Tiger Woods begins his quest for a record-breaking third FedEx Cup Championship after confirming that he will be joining the Northern Trust next week, the first of three FedEx Cup play-off events complete the 2019-20 season of the PGA Tour.
Woods ranks 47th in the FedEx Cup standings and is expected to drop a few places after the close of this week's Wyndham Championship.

Playing all three playoff events, the 44-year-old will have just one week off for the rearranged US Open at Winged Foot from September 17-20.
The 15-time big winner missed the cut when the US Open was last held at Winged Foot in June 2006, his first event after the death of his father Earl in May.
