Former champion Justin Thomas withdrew from the American PGA championship with a wrist injury.
The number five in the world, who won his only major at Quail Hollow in 2017, finished last at the Masters last month.
"My wrist is not completely healed," said the 26-year-old American. "As a past champion, this tournament is extra special, I am disappointed."

The public course on Long Island is notoriously heavy, with a sign next to the 1st famous tee : "The Black Course is an extremely difficult course that we recommend for highly skilled golfers."
The par-70 course, measuring 7,459 yards, has been softened by rain, which will make it play even longer.
Before Thomas & # 39; s withdrawal, the 101st US PGA Championship was established as the first major to include all of the top 100 players in the world rankings.
Thomas is replaced by fellow American Kelly Kraft, world number 192.
The tournament, which was held earlier in August as the last of the four majors of the year, is played in May for the first time since 1949.
