Former World Number 1 Adam Scott has created ground on & # 39; night leader Justin Rose with another sub-par round on Pebble Beach.
Scott is the first Australian to hit the clubhouse on Friday morning, where he signed for a 2-under-69 round and lifted him up for the 3-under tournament.
He is four strokes drifting from the first round leader Rose, whose second-up 70 takes him to 7-under for the tournament – currently enough to be a blow out of the field.
A double at the end ended anything but the hope of Aaron Baddeley to qualify at the weekend, the Victorian follows 72 yesterday with a 75 today 5-over for the tournament.
The Matt Jones of Sydney returned an even-par-71 on Friday but seems at least one blow shy of missing tonight's cut, Jones is currently 3-over for the championship in a share of 89.
Fellow New South Welshman Brett Drewitt will also miss the weekend's action during his major championship debut. Drewitt improved & # 39; s yesterday with a 76 in the second round and closed for the week of 11-over.
Aaron Baddeley flirted with the cutting line late in the day after a birdie at 17, but a double bogey on the par-5 left him languishing at 5-over for the tournament and ended his week.
