Minjee Lee & # 39; s quest for a number 1 world ranking is on schedule while leading the LA Open of the LPGA Tour by shooting twice at Wilshire Country Club.
Lee, the world number 4, added a 69 to her opening 66 to reach seven-under and take the lead on the weekend.
She placed a wedge of just over 100 meters at the par-four 14th hole to grab the lead.
"Of all the ones I nearly made, I think this is the only one I've really seen falling into the hole," Lee said. "It was pretty cool to see it happen for the first time."
Another Western Australian, Hannah Green, is fifth, after a second round 73 spoiled by three falling shots in the last two holes.
