Geoff Nicholas (NSW) leads the Nexus Risk WA Open All Abilities Championship

History has been created with the WA Open All Abilities Championship starting today at Cottesloe Golf Club.

The 36-hole championship for golfers with a handicap will be played this year during the Nexus Risk WA Open.

It is the first time that an All Abilities Championship is being held in an open state according to the successful format of the Australian All Abilities Championship at the Men & # 39; s & # 39; s Australian Open.

Eleven players from WA, VIC and NSW play for the Terry Gale Cup, the same trophy as the WA Open amateur field.

"We wanted to ensure that these incredible players have the same chance to win a state title". Gary WA CEO Golf WA said

"To play this event within the Nexus Risk WA Open ensures that these players not only share the same experience, it also emphasizes the inclusive nature of the game for everyone," added Thomas.

New South Welshman Geoff Nicholas has a four-stroke lead after round one over Victorian Arnold Bamroong.
