Paul Lawrie wins Scottish Senior Open at Craigielaw

Paul Lawrie awarded a level-par final round of 71 to win the title

Former Open champion Paul Lawrie placed a final round 71 to win the Scottish Senior Open with two shots in Craigielaw.

It was a first senior title for Lawrie, who turned 50 in January.

The Aberdonian was two eagerly on his way to the final round, but included two birdies in his first seven holes to take command.

He then played a measured 11-hole final in stormy conditions in East Lothian to ensure that he finished two clear rounds from Peter Baker and Peter Fowler.
