St Andrews: R&A to build changing facilities for women
Changing facilities for women will be part of an improvement program
Changing facilities for women are first built in the club house in St. Andrews, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club have confirmed.
Construction will "take a few years" as part of a wider renovation program.
In 2014, the R&A voted to allow female members for the first time in its 260-year history.
"We are in the early stages of planning upgrades, including the installation of changing rooms for women," the R&A said.
"We consult with members on the proposed changes before we finalize our plans. There is no set timetable at this stage, but it will be a phased program that takes several years to complete."
