Two more stars for #AusOpenGolf

Nicolas Colsaerts and Anirban Lahiri are coming to The Lakes next month.

The Indian superstar and dual Presidents Cup player Anirban Lahiri is the last to commit to #AusOpenGolf.

To conclude this coup d'état, he will be accompanied by the former Ryder Cup star from 15-18 November and the popular Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney.

Their dedication adds a new layer to the growing international power group behind the Stonehaven Cup, with American PGA Tour winners Matt Kuchar, Keegan Bradley, Brandt Snedeker and Brendan Steele already in the field.

They will be joined by a large number of in-form Australians who are chasing the 103rd edition of their national championship, culminating in the defending champion Cam Davis and the Australian PGA winner Cameron Smith.

It will be Lahiri's first shot at the Australian Open, but he has been a productive traveler who has played the PGA Tour over the past three seasons and has kept his hand in his home Asian Tour.

Lahiri, 31, comes several times close to victory on the US Tour, including a T6 in the recent WGC Bridgestone Invitational, but has achieved 18 global victories in reaching as high as No.33 in the world rankings.

Colsaerts, who turns 36 the day before the start of the tournament, shares his second appearance in the Australian Open in 1868 with Lee Westwood behind Matt Jones at The Australian in 2015 shortly after he reached his peak of No.32 in the world.

Steven Pitt, head of the Gulf of Australia, was pleased that both players have committed to the Stonehaven Cup.

"Nicolas has been a beloved visitor to Australia and his ball-stroke always attracts a big gallery," Pitt said.

"And we are very pleased to welcome Anirban for the first time, he clearly has a huge following in India and we would like nothing more than to see that a good result in Sydney pushes him to his third consecutive Presidential Cup performance."
