Round 1 of the Victorian Junior Masters has started today in the pristine Spring Valley Golf Club in the southeast of Melbourne. After 23 successful years at Waverley Golf Club, the Victorian Junior Masters moved to Spring Valley Golf Club for the first time. The event is contested through 72 hole stroke.

A cloudy start to the day provided good scoring opportunities for the morning field with Harrison Weaver (Medway GC) with a score of less than 70 on a handicap of 5. Weaver & # 39; s Nett 65 leads the general category.

The afternoon field went to the fairways under the blue sky with the best of the best to fight it out. The highlight of the day was a hole-in-one on the Par 3 10th hole of Cranbourne & # 39; s Tom Ryan. Tom & # 39; s first shot of the day was a perfectly beaten 50-degree wedge that the cup found. He followed with 3 bogeys in the next 4 holes but fought well back thanks to his accurate ride to draw for a 3 under 68.

In the girls' field Min A Yoon, the recently crowned Junior Vic Open and Port Phillip amateur champion scored a 5 under 69. The Yoon round included only one bogey on the Par four, fourth hole.
