Live ticket sales for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are now online.

After the huge demand in last month's global vote, many Australians have been able to reserve their tickets for next year's sports spectacle. The Australian Olympic team partner CoSport now sells the remaining tickets based on who comes first, who first serves.

To date, Australians have applied for most tickets for traditional Olympic classics, athletics, swimming, basketball and artistic gymnastics, followed by the opening ceremony on July 24, 2020 at the New National Stadium in Tokyo

Golf will be played at the impressive Kasumigaseki Country Club, north of Tokyo, in separate men's and women's events from July 30 to August 8.

At the moment, Adam Scott and Minjee Lee are at the top of the Australian contenders list, with Hannah Green, Jason Day, Marc Leishman, Su Oh and Cameron Smith probably also for berths in the team.

The men's qualification will end on June 20 next year, with the ladies finishing the following week on June 29.

"The Tokyo Games will open in just over a year … with our ticket partner CoSport, we are delighted to give the friends and family of Australian athletes the opportunity to purchase tickets," said Australian Olympic Committee CEO Matt Carroll
