Murwillumbah & # 39; s Lucas Higgins survived a gripping play-off to win the oldest division of the Gary Player Classic at Pacific Golf Club today.
Higgins won the 18-20 year section for the second consecutive year, while Redcliffe's Tyler Duncan ran the 16-17 year division and Southport & Manato Nakatani took the title under 15.
Higgins had an epic day and had to come from behind against an unbridled Joel Stahlhut, who led by playing five shots with nine holes.
Higgins birdied the second play-off hole to complete the win, after Stahlhut made a five-meter putt at the first play-off hole to extend the game.
The victory of Duncan in the group 16-17 was extended after he had built up a lead of four shots with his second round 67. But he stumbled in the third round and had to dig deep on the last day, eventually the only player who ended up under par.
Nakatani led in the final round of the under 15s and remained stable with a 75 win by two shots.
