Adam Scott and Tiger Woods share a lighter moment on course.

Adam Scott is quite surprised at Tiger Woods' return to the top of the golf mountain.

But Scott warned his younger peers today who are warming up for the newer, more "accessible" Tiger that the competitive drive of the American to crush their minds was never far from the surface.

"He's written off, his back shot, he's old and then he comes back and wins the Masters – really the whole thing is incredible and it's exciting to play golf," Scott Inside told The Ropes

"For me, who played with Tiger a lot when he really was a dominant force, it's nice to see him play again at the top level."

Scott said that Woods, 43, who has once again risen to No. 5 in the world by virtue of his Augusta triumph in April, & # 39; a little more relaxed & # 39; had become after overcoming his physical and personal trials of the past years

"I would not say fully (relaxed), but he is definitely more accessible and personal than in his dominant years," Scott said of the five-time Masters champion.

"But he played the game well with everyone, he did everything to gain an advantage and I think a lot of that helped him with that intimidation (factor).

"He is now at a very different stage in his career, and I think, perhaps foolishly, some of the people who enjoy him are approachable are sucked into a false sense of security together with him.

"He is tied to step on someone's throat when necessary."

Scott was usually frank in his thoughts about a number of issues surrounding his own performance and the sport in general, including opening his mind about the Tokyo Olympics next year.

And the Queenslander said he was so comfortable with his much-discussed statement that if he could get his iron game to a good level in the coming US and open the British, he could win another important championship.
